How this directory is built and verified
Every number and rule on this page is computed by the same live code that builds the directory pages — nothing here is a typed-in claim.
Verification: confirm, then decide
No listing is published on a submission alone. Each club or event is checked against a source page — the organiser's own site, the venue's listing, or an official programme — and either confirmed and approved, or rejected with a note inviting re-submission with better evidence. Listings are never held in limbo, and evidence that is only historical (“they ran a show in 2023”) is not accepted as proof something is active now. Each listing shows the date it was last verified.
Right now the directory holds 300 clubs, of which 2 carry a verification date.
The 90-day staleness rule
A listing not re-verified in the last 90 days is flagged stale internally and queued for re-checking. Computed today (2026-10-08), the cutoff is 2026-07-10: 0 of 2 verified clubs currently sit past it and are in the re-verification queue.
The weekend window, live
Events this weekend uses a Friday–Sunday window: on Monday to Thursday it looks ahead to the coming weekend; on Friday, Saturday and Sunday it shows the weekend in progress. Computed right now by that page's own function, the current window is Fri, 9 Oct 2026 – Sun, 11 Oct 2026.
Events are archived, never deleted
When an event's end date passes, its status flips to archived and the page stays live — the historical record is part of the product. The archive currently holds 140 past events alongside 49 upcoming ones.
Data sources
- Organiser and venue websites (the primary verification source).
- Club submissions from organisers, individually reviewed before publishing.
- Facebook-only clubs are added and checked by hand — this site does not scrape Facebook.
What this site refuses to do
- No automated scraping of Facebook or any members-only community space.
- No listings published without a verifiable, current source.
- No deleting past events to make numbers look fresher.
- No paid placement or pay-to-rank — ordering is by data, not by payment.
- No implied affiliation: BrickGather is independent and not endorsed by the LEGO Group; LEGO-branded shows are described, never claimed.
